FC Barcelona will be kicking off their game against Deportivo Alaves shortly in La Liga. Having already secured the league title in their previous game against Real Madrid, the Catalan giants now have their eyes set on reaching a 100 points by the end of the campaign.

However, it was always going to be unlikely for Hansi Flick to start his strongest eleven in this game. For that reason, it is hardly surprising to see a rotated starting eleven take the field for this game.

In goal, Wojciech Szczesny has been selected by Hansi Flick to start for Barcelona as the team looks to secure all three points in this game. The Polish veteran, currently second choice behind Joan Garcia, will need to deliver a strong performance here.

Ahead of him, Alvaro Cortes and Pau Cubarsi start together as the team’s centre-back partnership. Both players will need to keep Alaves at bay to ensure that the team minimises any damage during this game.

On the flanks, Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde start for La Blaugrana and will look to cover a lot of distance on the flanks. They will want to prove their quality, so this is a good opportunity for both players.

In the midfield, Marc Casado starts alongside Marc Bernal and both players will be responsible for ensuring that the team remains in control of the match. Moreover, they will be responsible for creating opportunities for the rest of their teammates.

Ahead of them, Dani Olmo starts as the team’s central attacking midfielder while Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji start on the wings. All three players will need to be at the top of their game for this match.

Up top, Robert Lewandowski starts as the team’s centre-forward, and this could be one of his last appearances for the club considering his uncertain future. However, it is for exactly that reason that he might have a point to prove.
