FC Barcelona have a great opportunity to cement their place at the top of La Liga today. Heading to the Mestalla, Hansi Flick’s team will be taking on Valencia with the hopes of taking away all three points from this tough fixture.
A win here would ensure that they go three points clear at the top of the table and it would enable them to take advantage of their rivals slipping up in other fixtures. To do that, Hansi Flick will need his players to be at their absolute best.
Here is the official starting eleven for Flick’s team.
In goal, Joan Garcia will be the player starting for FC Barcelona and it was an expected choice between the sticks. He has had an amazing start to the season so far, and Hansi Flick will be hoping he can keep Valencia at bay.
Ahead of him, Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin start in defense and both players will be looking to keep things tight at the back. It will be a monumental task for both of them, but they have the quality to manage it.
On the flanks, Eric Garcia and Xavi Espart will be the players starting for Barcelona and they will have a lot of ground to cover. Fortunately, they have the quality and ability to help both offensively and defensively.
In the midfield, Pedri and Rodri will accompany each other in the team’s double-pivot and they will be tasked with ensuring that the team remains in control. Moreover, they will look to create opportunities for their teammates as well.
Ahead of them, the attacking midfield spot will be occupied by Fermin Lopez. The Spaniard will need to be sharp and attentive to ensure that he can be a constant threat to Valencia and their defensive structure.
Lastly, in attack, Flick has entrusted the trio of Raphinha, Anthony Gordon, and Lamine Yamal to lead the charge for Barcelona. With their combined pace and intensity, this attacking partnership of the three players is surely going to make things difficult for Valencia.
