Members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have on Thursday secured their respective places at next summer’s World Cup.
Didier Deschamps’ troops, in turn, have clinched top spot in the Group D table, with a game to spare. And with it, their place at next summer’s showpiece tournament.
As much means that, should all be fit, Real Madrid trio Kylian Mbappé, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni (and potentially Ferland Mendy) have joined Barcelona’s Jules Koundé on their respective paths to the 2026 World Cup.
Focusing in on France’s comfortable victory over Ukraine, it was Kylian Mbappé who again proved himself the star of the show this evening.
Of Les Bleus’ four goals, the 26-year-old played a direct hand in three, courtesy of a brace, alongside a late assist.
