Official: Barcelona squad list to face Athletic Club – forward ruled out, two stars return | OneFootball

With only a matter of hours left before FC Barcelona take on Athletic Club on their return to the Spotify Camp Nou, manager Hansi Flick has announced the squad list for the encounter.

And, as expected, Marcus Rashford is ruled out of the contest between the Blaugrana and the Basque club later today.

The 28-year-old forward, on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, did not train with the rest of the squad for the past two days as he was down with a fever. And he is now left out of the squad.

This does come as a blow for Barcelona, considering the England international had been in fine form heading into the international break.

However, the La Liga champions do have Raphinha back in the squad after nearly two months, which will come as a big boost, although the Brazilian will not be starting today.

As such, the likely scenario will be that Ferran Torres moves to the left flank to fill in for Rashford while Robert Lewandowski starts as the centre-forward for Barcelona, with Lamine Yamal on the right.

Joan Garcia is another important player who makes it back to the squad after being out of action since late September due to a meniscus problem.

Barcelona go into the game without Pedri, Gavi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Frenkie de Jong (suspended). Youngster Dro makes the squad and might get some minutes.
