Official: Barcelona star suffers injury setback | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

This comes after the player in question – Alejandro Balde – suffered a training ground injury on Wednesday morning.

Balde was one of few of high-profile Barcelona stars still in Catalunya’s capital this week.

As much comes after the left-back was not called up to Spain’s squad for the country’s upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header.

Balde, in turn, spent the week to date training amongst a threadbare group at the Ciutat Esportiva.

And as alluded to above, during as much, the 21-year-old picked up a fitness setback which looks set to culminate in an incoming spell away from the grass.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s official website and social media platforms:

‘Defender Alejandro Balde suffered a slight injury to his left hamstring during today’s training session. His availability will depend on how he progresses.’
