In a little over an hour, FC Barcelona will lock horns with CD Guadalajara in their first Copa del Rey encounter of the 2025/26 season, in the Round of 32 stages.

With kickoff not far away, Barça manager Hansi Flick has announced the starting lineup that will be taking the field against the RFEF Primera Division outfit.

In a major surprise, Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen starts in goal, making his first appearance of the season after having recently recovered from a back surgery.

It was widely expected that Wojciech Szczesny would be the starter with Joan Garcia being rested, but the German international has been given the nod by the manager.

Meanwhile, there is heavy rotation across the field as the defensive line sees a rare start for Andreas Christensen, where he is seemingly partnered by Eric Garcia as the second centre-back.

Marc Casado gets a rare chance, while there is an opportunity for youngster Jofre Torrents on the left side of the defence. Marc Bernal also starts in midfield, pairing up with Frenkie de Jong.

There is also the possibility that Garcia slots in at right-back, with De Jong and Christensen pairing up in defence and Casado forming the double pivot with Bernal.

Meanwhile, Roony Bardghji comes into the team, potentially slotting in on the right flank, which sees Lamine Yamal move into a more central role as the No. 10.

Marcus Rashford starts on the left flank, while Fermin Lopez could be featuring as a No. 9, as was suggested earlier today.
