Manuel Baum will remain head coach of FC Augsburg until the end of the season. The club reached this agreement with the 46-year-old after positive talks in recent days.
The coach, who works for Augsburg as Head of Development and Football Innovation, took over as interim head coach on December 1st.
Baum has given the team stability in the last three matches, conceding only one goal and collecting important points, including against last season's runners-up, Bayer Leverkusen.
Baum was previously head coach of Augsburg between 2016 and 2019, during which time he laid the foundation for the development of numerous talented players.
“We are convinced that Manuel Baum is exactly the right coach for our FC Augsburg in the current situation.
"He enjoys our full confidence, and we are very pleased that Manuel has agreed to continue in the role until the end of the season.
"Since taking over our team at the beginning of December, he has done an excellent job. We want to build on this together in 2026,” said club managing director Michael Ströll.
