Liverpool have confirmed that Billy Koumetio (21) has joined Championship Billy Koumetio on loan until the end of the season via their official social media channels.

The France U20 international is set to go on his second loan spell of the season. Koumetio joined USL Dunkerque in the summer transfer window before being recalled by Jurgen Klopp in the January transfer window. The Lyon academy graduate made 9 appearances during his time with the Ligue 2 club. The 21-year-old’s loan spell to Blackburn will be Koumetio’s third away from Anfield since he joined the club in 2019 from US Orléans.

Following a similar path

Liverpool will be hoping that Koumetio can follow in the footsteps of previous loanees who have gone to Ewood Park and impressed. Most notably, Harvey Elliott impressed during his time on loan at Blackburn – scoring 7 goals and assisting 11 in 42 appearances. More recently, Tyler Morton has impressed on loan at the Championship club.
