Bochum striker Lys Mousset (26) will be loaned out to Ligue 2 side Nîmes until the end of the season, the German club have announced. The former U21 French international has not played this season with the Bundesliga outfit as he was hampered by injuries. The former Le Havre youth product joined Bournemouth in 2016 and left the Cherries three years later to sign for Sheffield United. He finished the 2019–2020 season as joint-highest scorer for the Blades, who were relegated to the Championship the following season.
One year ago, Mousset was loaned out to Serie A side Salernitana, and signed a two-year deal with Bochum the following summer. At the turn of the year, it was reported that Mousset was suspended from Bochum’s first team training for lateness and an apparent “unprofessional” attitude during the club’s Spanish training Camp at Jérez de la Frontera. Mousset has only five months with Nîmes to rejuvenate his once-promising career. Les Crocodiles have exited the 4-spot drop zone and are now sixteenth-placed in Ligue 2 standings.
