Brest have secured a Deadline Day move to sign France U21 international winger Noah Edjouma (20) from Ligue 1 rivals Lille OSC, both sides have announced. Brest were in need of attacking reinforcements after parting ways with Osasuna-bound Romain Del Castillo on Tuesday. The attacking midfielder was notably part of Brest’s extraordinary success story under Eric Roy. His contribution was significant in allowing Les Ty-Zéfs to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

Lille OSC were ready to sanction Edjouma’s temporary exit for their winger if he can develop and get regular playing time, something that Brest head coach Julien Lachuer would be inclined to do. Edjouma joined Lille from formative club Toulouse FC in a €5m deal six months ago. He never really made his mark with Les Dogues, featuring only five times. Edjouma’s loan move doesn’t include an option to buy. He could make his Brest debut on Saturday against Le Havre.
