Borussia Dortmund midfielder Pascal Groβ has completed his return to Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion, in a deal worth up to €3m including bonuses.

The 34-year-old German returns to the club he enjoys legendary status with after spending 18 months with his boyhood team. Speaking of his time in North-Rhein-Westphalia, Groβ said: “For me, a lifelong dream has come true to be able to play for Borussia Dortmund. Above all, running out in our stadium in front of the Yellow Wall was an indescribable feeling every time. I’d like to thank BVB and those responsible and wish the club and its incredible fans all the best.”

Groβ, who has been capped 16 times for Germany, left Sussex for Dortmund in the summer of 2024 after seven years with the Seagulls. He enjoyed a successful first season in the Ruhrgebiet, scoring once and providing 15 assists first under Nuri Şahin and then Niko Kovač. He has however found game time more difficult to come by this season, completing the 90 minutes just twice in the Bundesliga this time around.

Groβ therefore made it known to Kovač as well as Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl that he wished to move on. Brighton were quick to swoop in to snap up their former midfielder.
