AJ Auxerre have announced that Brighton & Hove Albion striker Ibrahim Osman (20) has joined the club on a loan move, with reports from Fabrizio Romano suggesting that the Ghanian striker will have an optional clause to make his move permanent for €16m: a transfer record for the Ligue 1 side. Osman signed for the Seagulls in February on a contract which runs until 2029 from Danish side FC Nordsjælland. The Ghanian was subsequently loaned to Feyenoord last season, where he made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and assisting three times. The Dutch giants opted not to exercise the purchase option in his loan deal, leading to his return to Brighton this summer.Brighton technical director David Weir said, “Ibrahim had a good loan with Feyenoord last season where he gained experience in the Eredivisie and played in the Champions League,” in a statement on the Albion’s website. “As with all of our young players, it’s important that he gets as much game time and playing minutes at a high level. Joining Auxerre will provide that chance and will be another important part in his development, and we look forward to watching his progress this season.”GFFN | George Boxall
