Stade Rennais have officially confirmed the signing of Carlos Andrés Gómez (21) from Major League Soccer franchise Real Salt Lake. The Colombia international winger has lit up the MLS in logging 13 goals and seven assists in 23 games with the Utah outfit. Rennes reportedly broke the €10m barrier to secure the services of Gómez. The 21-year-old winger has put pen to paper over a five-year deal with Les Rouge et Noir.

Gómez is the third Colombia national to sign for Rennes, following in the footsteps of Victor Hugo Montaño and Juan Fernando Quintero. “I’m very happy. It’s an important step for me in a major championship. I know I’ll need to prove my worth”, added Rennes’ latest signing. Stade Rennais were in the market for a wide player in the wake of Désiré Doué’s (19) transfer to Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain. Rennes will kick off their 2024-2025 Ligue 1 campaign at home against Olympique Lyonnais.
