Official: Celta Vigo star signs new contract | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Monday announced some altogether positive news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation of Javi Rueda committing his future to the Celestes.

Defender Rueda is for his part in the midst of what has been an impressive individual campaign to date.

Across 11 appearances in all competitions, from his berth at right-back, the 23-year-old has showcased stellar attacking ability en route to a goal and three assists.

Such production comes despite a niggling muscular injury.

Emerging as an increasingly prominent figure in Claudio Giráldez’s setup in his first full season at Balaídos, Rueda, in turn, has this week been aptly rewarded by the Celta Vigo brass.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Galician club on Monday:

‘Javi Rueda extends his contract with Celta until 2029. The full-back, who arrived in the olive-growing city in July 2023, will continue to defend the blue shield for four more seasons.’
