Chelsea have just announced that Aaron Anselmino has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan for the season, after a week of rumours that the former Boca man would be heading there.
It comes just a day after the Blues announced that Carney Chukwuemeka had moved to the same club. The two deals look to have been done at the same time, while remaining separate.
It means that Blues fans who got the hand of keeping an eye on the German giants’ results when Carney was on loan there for the second half of last season can continue to keep a Chelsea-based interest in them.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl had really positive words about the youngster, who will be needed in the team right away thanks to injuries in the Dortmund back line.
“We have been following Aaron since his time at Boca Juniors. He is a very good solution in our current situation,” Kehl said.
“We will integrate him quickly because we need him immediately and are looking forward to seeing Aaron in the black and yellow jersey this season.”
Anselmino will have the chance to show what he can do while Dortmund are missing some key defenders – hopefully he shows enough to keep his place all season.
Anselmino does look to have great potential, and it will be really interesting to see how he gets on in the Bundesliga. The game there is very open, and central defenders are often left very exposed by their midfield – especially at Dortmund. It will all be a big test for the youngster, thrown in at the deep end.
Anselmino takes the 5th of our 6 foreign loan slots. That final one is very precious, and we expect it to be used very sparingly given the likes of Christopher Nkunku are still looking for a move.
