Dastan Satpayev is the latest Chelsea player to take a Championship loan, as he heads to Burnley for the season.

Chelsea’s busy week of transfers went on today with the announcement that young striker Dastan Satpayev has joined Burnley on loan for the season.

The 18 year old Kazakhstan international joins the Clarets in his fourth year playing in senior football. Last year he featured for Kairat Almaty in the Champions League, impressing enough that a number Championship teams were keen to take him on loan this season.

“I’m very pleased to be here. It’s a great opportunity for me in my career and a great club to show what I can do and help the team get back to where they belong,” the striker said to the club’s official website.

“It’s my first time playing in England and I’m ready now to take on the next chapter and have a successful time with Burnley.”

Like most Chelsea fans, we’re incredibly excited to see how Satpayev gets on. We’ve been following his progress so far mainly in grainy Twitter clips from Kazakh league games. Now we’re going to be able to see how he gets on at a far higher level, much closer to home.

His preseason cameos showed he’s already got plenty of the tools he needs to be a success. If he gets the minutes we hope for, this could be a huge season for him.
