Diogo Sousa (20) has signed for RC Strasbourg Alsace. The midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 club, as confirmed on Wednesday. 

Strasbourg currently find themeselves without a manager, but that is not delaying their preparations for the upcoming season. Gary O’Neil’s departure for Ipswich Town came as a surprise to many, even within the club. It is hoped that a successor will be announced within 10 days. RCSA return for pre-season training on 8th July.

Sousa will be present upon the squad’s return. A product of Vitória’s academy, the young Portuguese Under-21 international midfielder (two caps) made his professional debut there in September 2025, before establishing himself as a key member of Gil Lameiras’ squad.

Starting in 15 of his 28 appearances across all competitions (one goal, one assist), Sousa was instrumental not only in Os Conquistadores’ comfortable survival in Primeira Liga, but also in their League Cup victory.

He has signed a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around €10m.
