AS Monaco have tonight announced the signing of Eric Dier. The 31-year-old will sign a three-year contract with the Principality club when his contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season.
It brings an end to Dier’s 1.5 year stay at Bayern Munich after a successful loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur before making a permanent move last summer. During his time at the Allianz Arena, the Englishman has played 47 games across all competitions for the Rekordmeister, including 20 league appearances this season under Vincent Kompany as they reclaim the Bundesliga title.
After injuries to Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito, Dier established himself as a key player alongside Kim Min-jae in central defence.
Brought to Bavaria under Thomas Tuchel, Dier will certainly look back on his time at Bayern Munich with fondness. The 31-year-old quickly integrated himself within the squad as an experienced figurehead.
