Official: Espanyol secure Irvin Cardona signing | OneFootball

The busy summer being enjoyed by La Liga outfit Espanyol has continued on Saturday.

This comes amid confirmation of a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms at Stage Front Stadium with a view to the 2024/25 campaign? Irvin Cardona.

For those not familiar with his name, Cardona is a versatile French attacker, who is currently on the books of Bundesliga club Augsburg.

27 years of age, he generally lines out in a centre-forward role, but Cardona is also more than capable of taking to the pitch on the wing.

Such versatility had long piqued the attentions of those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Espanyol, who this week kicked negotiations with their Augsburg counterparts up a notch.

And, as alluded to above, this weekend, such talks have officially borne fruit.

As per an announcement across Espanyol’s website and social media platforms:

‘RCD Espanyol has completed the signing of player Irvin Cardona (Nimes, 08-08-1997), who arrives on loan from FC Augsburg.’
