Everton (18) received a big blow last week when he discovered that his season was over, however, this week, there was good news for the young OGC Nice midfielder.

Everton, the son of former Nice player Everson, made his breakthrough into the first team this season. The midfielder had come through the ranks and was given his chance with the pros following the arrival of Claude Puel as manager.

Everton started two games in Ligue 1

Since Puel’s nomination, following Franck Haise’s departure at the end of December, Everton had made two starts in Ligue 1, against RC Strasbourg Alsace and Toulouse FC. He also featured in the Côte d’Azur derby against AS Monaco in February, as well as two UEFA Europa League encounters, prior to Le Gym’s elimination at the ‘League Phase’ stage.

However, a serious ankle injury has since curtailed the young midfielder’s season. Nice have confirmed that Everton has signed his first professional deal, although the duration of that deal has not been revealed. L’Équipe believes that it is a three-year deal starting from the summer.
