Despite captaining Austria’s national team, Arnautovic has Serbian origins.

Furthermore, he fluently speaks Serbian and maintains strong ties to the country through his family.

Meanwhile, his transfer to Red Star is not only a sentimental homecoming.

It should also help the 1991 European Cup winners gain a foothold in the Champions League next term.

It’s also worth noting that Red Star tried to sign Arnautovic last summer.

However, the deal was not feasible.

Arnautovic made 65 appearances for Inter and won two Serie A titles, an Italian Super Cup, and a Champions League over two spells.
