Official: ‘Excited’ Njie joins Fiorentina from Torino | OneFootball

Alieu Njie has joined Fiorentina on loan, with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

Fiorentina have announced the signing of Torino winger Njie.

It’s an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy tied to performance-related objectives.

Njie, 21, scored two goals in 36 appearances with Torino and has six appearances with the U21 Sweden national team.

“I’m very happy and excited to start playing for this exciting team. I’ve never seen such a beautiful training ground. I’m happy and honoured to be here and get even better every day. Hopefully, it will be a beautiful season,” Njie told Fiorentina’s official website.

What did convince him to join the Tuscans?

“It’s the history of Fiorentina. I played against them many times. I’ve seen their passion and, of course, the training ground. It shocked me,” he replied.

“It’s a good project they gave me, so I couldn’t say no.

“I can help my team make the difference on the pitch and be dangerous for the opponents on the attacking side. Where I need to improve is in my decision-making, and maybe in scoring more goals and providing more assists.

“I haven’t set a mark; I’m here to help my team on the pitch,” Njie continued.

“I spoke to some ex-players, Fortini, Comuzzo and Biraghi, who told me this is a great opportunity for me to do my thing. They said many positive things about this club. I’m just happy.

“I want to make a great impact, showcase my abilities to the fans, and my passion. I want to come here and help the team as much as I can with my abilities. Forza Viola!”
