The 26-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan in Serie A with Hellas Verona last term, but has struggled to work his way into Antonio Conte’s first-team plans at the Stadio Maradona, and has only featured for 31 minutes across six cameo appearances in the top flight in 2024-25.
He will move on loan to Fiorentina for the remainder of the season. La Viola will retain the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Fiorentina have confirmed that Folorunsho will wear the no. 90 shirt for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Folorunsho, who made earned two caps for the Italy national team under Luciano Spalletti last season, becomes Fiorentina’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Nicolas Valentini on a free transfer from Boca Juniors at the start of the month.
La Viola have also bid farewell to Lucas Martinez Quarta this month, as he has returned to Argentina to sign for River Plate.
