“Fiorentina announce the temporary acquisition, with an option to buy, of the sporting rights of the footballer Manor Solomon from Tottenham Hotspur,” the Serie A side said in a statement.

The Israeli international spent the first part of the season on loan at Villarreal, where he scored one goal and provided one assist in six La Liga appearances.

A former Shakhtar Donetsk, Leeds and Fulham winger, Solomon has made 24 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals. He’s also combined 30 appearances and five goals in the Champions League and the Europa League.

The 26-year-old has reunited with his former Shakhtar teammate Dodo at the Stadio Franchi.

“I’m really happy to be here,” Solomon said.

“As soon as I saw the place and the people, I got really excited, and when the opportunity came up for me, I wanted to come straight away to try to help the team.

“I know it’s a great club, facilities are amazing, there’s great heritage and great history, and I’m looking forward to this challenge.”

The Tuscans are in a tricky situation as they sit at the bottom of the table with nine points in 17 matches. The Viola have only won one league game this season.

“It’s a big challenge for me personally and also for the team. The situation is not easy for the team and the club; the club is not used to it, but I’m sure we can get much better,” continued the Israeli winger.

“There’s a great squad and great manager, and I’m sure we can get the job done and be much better.

“I just saw Dodo, and I was really excited. I hadn’t seen him for a long time; we were really close at Shakhtar. I think he assisted me with the first two goals in the Champions League, and we’ve become really close. I look forward to cooperating with him on the pitch. He’s a lovely guy, I’m happy to be with him again.”

Solomon is expected to be available for Fiorentina’s next game against Cremonese at the Stadio Franchi on Sunday.
