Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of Giovanni Fabbian from Bologna, in a reported deal that sees the Italian join the Viola with an option to buy & obligation to buy under certain conditions.

On their official website, Fiorentina confirmed the move, as the club look to keep up their improved momentum as of late.

Fiorentina sign Fabbian as Viola look to improve

After a disastrous start to the campaign, the Viola have picked up their form lately and now look likely to avoid the drop.

The midfielder adds another string in the bow of Fiorentina head coach Paolo Vanoli.

Fiorentina confirmed that the Italian will wear the shirt number 80 at his new club and looks to continue his own personal improvement, having earned a recent senior call-up to Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy team.

The Viola were not the only team interested in signing Fabbian and the club reportedly beat the likes of Lazio and Roma to the midfielder.
