The Gabriel Moscardo (18) transfer scandal has reached its conclusion. What looked like a simple deal was thrown into question after the Brazilian failed his medical, however, Moscardo has now joined PSG.
Moscardo, as well as compatriot Lucas Beraldo travelled to Paris at the beginning of the transfer window. Whilst the latter completed his medical, an issue was detected in the former. The Corinthians midfielder had a foot injury that would require surgery.
PSG were unwilling to immediately complete the deal for the injured player, given the risks involved in the surgery. However, after public pressure from Corinthians president Augusto Melo to get the deal over the line, Moscardo is now officially a PSG player.
However, Moscardo will not immediately represent his new club, firstly because of his foot injury, which will reportedly rule him out until April, and also because he has been loaned back to Corinthians until the end of the season.
Moscardo has signed a deal with Les Parisiens that runs until the summer of 2028. He will wear the #44 jersey, which has been stripped from Hugo Ekitiké (21) ahead of his expected departure.
“I am very happy to join PSG. It is one of the happiest days of my life. It is a project with you talented players. I can’t wait to join the squad and meet the whole team and the staff. I hope to win many trophies in red and blue and make the supporters happy,” said Moscardo when his signing was made official on Thursday.
