La Liga outfit Girona have on Friday announced a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms at the Estadi Montilivi? Vitor Reis.

The name of youngster Reis had of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the headlines surrounding Girona over recent weeks.

This came after word was forthcoming that the defender, after struggling for game time following his January arrival at Manchester City, was being eyed as a potential reinforcement on the part of the Blanquivermells brass.

Talks, in turn, were recently kicked into gear between the two partner clubs, regarding a season-long loan deal for Reis.

And as alluded to above, on Friday, an agreement regarding precisely as much has been reached.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Girona:

‘Girona FC and Manchester City FC have reached an agreement for the loan until the end of the season of the Brazilian defender Vitor d’Oliveira Nunes dos Reis, better known as Vitor Reis, aged 19. The new Girona center-back stands out for a combination of physical strength, good aerial play, and composure in ball distribution.’
