Official: Girona hit with fresh injury blow | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Girona have late this week announced a setback on the personnel front in the club’s first-team squad.

This comes amid confirmation that Thomas Lemar is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Winger Lemar of course took his talents to the Estadi Montilivi earlier this summer, on a season-long loan from Atlético Madrid.

And the Frenchman has since gone on to play his part in all but one of Girona’s La Liga fixtures to open the term.

As alluded to above, though, over the weeks ahead, Lemar looks set to miss a number of important outings.

This comes amid confirmation that the former AS Monaco standout has suffered a muscular injury.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Catalan club on Friday:

‘Thomas Lemar suffered a contusion during training session, has caused a muscle tear in the soleus. Estimated recovery time: 2 weeks.’
