Hoffenheim have today announced the signing of Marius Bülter from Schalke for a reported €4m including bonuses. The German attacker has signed a three-year contract that ties him to the Sinsheim club until 2026.
“Everyone at the club was enthusiastic about the idea of bringing Marius to TSG,” said Managing Director Alexander Rosen. “We are not only convinced of his footballing qualities, which he has demonstrated sufficiently in the past season, but also of the person. Marius combines many qualities that we value particularly after what has been an instructive season for us.
“After quite intensive negotiations and numerous discussions, we are pleased that we have now been able to complete the transfer.”
Upon signing for the club, Rosen also confirmed that Bülter waived an agreed share of the transfer fee to make sure that the move happened.
After joining Schalke from Union Berlin in July 2021, Bülter scored 23 goals and created 14 in 69 games across all competitions for the Royal Blues. His 11 Bundesliga goals for S04 last season played a significant role in Schalke’s campaign but it was unable to prevent them from being relegated to the 2. Bundesliga.
Bülter becomes the club’s third signing after Julian Justvan and Florian Grillitsch.
