Official: Huijsen joins AFC Bournemouth from Juventus | OneFootball

Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have officially announced the permanent signing of 19-year-old Juventus defender Dean Huijsen, who spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan with Roma.

Juventus have sold the talented teenager for an upfront fee of €15.2m with up to €3m in bonuses, for a total package close to the €18m mark.

Bournemouth have confirmed that Huijsen has signed a ‘long-term’ contract, which will reportedly run for six seasons until the summer of 2030, according to BBC Sport.

“We are delighted to bring in a player of such high calibre on a long-term deal,” Bournemouth CEO Neill Blake said in a statement on the club website.

“Dean is someone that has such exciting potential and we are all excited to see where his journey with the club will go.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Vitality Stadium and working together to help develop further all the qualities that he already possesses.”

Malaga, Juventus, Roma and now Bourmemouth

Huijsen joins Bournemouth after three seasons on the books with Juventus. The Bianconeri brought him over to Italy from Malaga in 2021.

After a brief spell with the club’s U17 side, Huijsen was quickly promoted to the U19s and then to the Next Gen squad, where he made 23 Serie C appearances in 2023. He would go on to make his debut for Juve’s senior side against Milan in October 2023.

More recently, Huijsen got a run of top flight appearances in Serie A with Roma. Jose Mourinho was still in charge at the time of his arrival, but was later replaced by club legend Daniele De Rossi.

Huijsen, whose father was also a professional footballer, was born in the Netherlands, but is also eligible to play for Spain at international level, and recently made his U21 debut for La Roja.
