Clermont Foot have officially announced the arrival of defender Saïdou Sow (23) on loan from RC Strasbourg Alsace. No purchase option has been included in the deal, meaning that the Guinean international, with 28 caps to his name, will return to the Alsatian club at the end of the season.

Transferred from AS Saint-Étienne, his youth club, to Strasbourg in the summer of 2023, Sow has played for RCSA on 25 occasions, including 22 in Ligue 1, before being loaned to FC Nantes for the second half of the 2024/25 season. Quickly becoming an important player for the Breton club, the Conakry native unfortunately suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his knee in April 2025 and had to wait until mid-January 2026 to finally return to official competition.

Despite his young age, Sow has already made 59 appearances in the top flight of French football and 26 in the second tier. An experienced addition for Clermont, currently 14th in Ligue 2 and fighting to stay up.
