Olympique Lyonnais have officially announced the signing of Julien Duranville (20) from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €5m, to which a maximum of €3.5m in bonuses may be added, as well as a 20% share of any future capital gains.
A product of the RSC Anderlecht academy, the Belgian winger has signed a five-year contract with Les Gones, running until 2031. Regarded as one of the greatest talents of the 2006 generation, Duranville’s early career was unfortunately marred by physical problems that hampered his progress within Borussia’s first team, for whom he has made just 27 appearances (one goal, one assist).
However, this did not prevent the Uccle-born player from making his Champions League debut and, above all, earning his first caps for Belgium, for whom he has made two appearances.
On loan at FC Basel during the second half of the 2025-26 season, Duranville took the opportunity to regain some playing time, starting 11 of the 17 matches (two goals, one assist) he played for the Swiss club.
