Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries underwent ankle surgery earlier today, which will likely sideline him for at least two months.
According to Inter.it, the Dutch ace went under the knife to ‘stabilize’ his long-term ankle problem.
The Nerazzurri lost Denzel Dumfries to a nasty injury during a home Serie A win over Lazio at the beginning of November.
Indeed, Mattia Zaccagni fell awkwardly on the 29-year-old’s foot, causing a sprain that has tormented him for over a month.

Though the injury seemed innocuous at first, Dumfries has been unable to return to action for over a month.
Despite the club’s hopes of having him back for the Supercoppa Italiana, Cristian Chivu couldn’t call upon his starting wingback.
Tired of waiting for his condition to improve, Dumfries has decided to go under the knife to address this niggling problem.
According to Eurosport, this could force him to stay in the pits for a further 8-12 weeks.
Now, he will follow a rehabilitation program over the coming weeks.
Dumfries’ absence could not have come at a worse moment for Inter, given the upcoming fixture schedule.
