Official – Inter Milan Vs Roma Serie A Clash To Be Played Sunday: Day After Funeral Of Pope Francis

Inter Milan will host Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan for the Serie A Match Day 34 clash on Sunday 27th of April at 15.00, the day after the funeral of Pope Francis.
This according to Italian outlet La Repubblica who report that Inter want to play the match on Sunday.
This is confirmed by Gazzetta dello Sport who report that Inter didn’t want to play on Saturday out of respect, given the Pope’s funeral played same day.
The match was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday 26th of April at 18.00 CET.
However, the match was then first postponed to the following day Sunday. This to accommodate the funeral of Pope Francis.
Several reports suggested that the match would be played at 12.30 CET on Sunday. Then La Repubblica reported that the match was scheduled for Saturday after all.
However, the match would be played at 20.45 CET on Saturday.

However, the match is now scheduled to be played on Sunday again. According to the report, Inter want to play the match on Sunday.
The Italian Government decided for no Serie A matches to be played on the day of the funeral.
Furthermore, five days of National Mourning have been announced. The Lega Calcio requested to play the match on Saturday. The Government obliged.
However, Inter Milan declined. Therefore, the match will be played on Sunday at 15.00 CET.
With regards to the other matches the Lega Calcio obliged the request of the Italian Government. This as, now Lazio will host Parma on Monday at 28th of April at 20.45 CET.
The match is scheduled to be played at Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Como will host Genoa on Sunday the 27th of April at 15.00 CET.
However, no final kick-off time regarding when Inter will play has been provided.
In conclusion, according to the report, all teams will wear a black armband. This to show respect and as a sign of mourning for the passing of Pope Francis.
