Cagliari have officially announced their signing of 23-year-old talent Yanis Massolin on loan with an option to buy from Inter, who will retain a buy-back option in the event that the transfer is made permanent.

“Cagliari is pleased to announce the acquisition of the sporting rights to the footballer Yanis Massolin, who joins the Rossobluu from Inter on loan until the end of the 2026-27 season with an option to buy and a buy-back option,” confirmed a statement on the club website.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Cagliari will have to pay a fee of €7m to purchase Massolin on a definitive basis. Inter had paid a fee of €8m including bonuses and add-ons to sign the youngster from Modena in the winter transfer window earlier this year.

Yanis Massolin joins Innter from Modena

Massolin has not yet appeared competitively for the Nerazzurri, as he immediately returned to Modena on a six-month loan deal after moving to San Siro at the end of the January transfer window.

The attacking midfielder provided three goals and three assists from 28 appearances in Serie B during the 2025-26 season.

The 2026-27 season will bring his first experience in the Italian top flight. He also has spells with Francs Borains and Clermont on his CV.
