Serie A champions Napoli have this afternoon announced the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste from Reims, with the Swedish international’s move to Italy being made official on the day of his 24th birthday.
Cajuste had joined the Champagne side a year and a half ago from Danish outfit Midtjylland, and made 41 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Ligue 1 outfit. He scored six goals and registered one assist, and notably played a part in the long-running mid-season unbeaten run that the team enjoyed last season on the arrival of Anglo-Belgian head coach Will Still.
L’Équipe indicate that Reims will receive a transfer fee of €12m for the Swede, who they had paid €10m for 18 months ago. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder underwent his medical yesterday, and has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him in Campania for the next five seasons.
