Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth have today announced the signing of 27-year-old Dutch left-back Jetro Willems on a two-year contract until 2023.
“With Jetro we get a very experienced full-back who wants to find his way back to his old strength after a difficult time. His way of playing football fits in very well with our requirements for the left-wing,” said Fürth sporting director Rachid Azzouzi.
After a loan spell at Premier League side Newcastle United, Willems failed to get back into the team at Eintracht Frankfurt last season under Adi Hütter, where he mainly operated in midfield after failing to oust Filip Kostic.
Willems arrives in Fürth as a replacement for David Raum who joined Hoffenheim.
