With the final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to kickstart later this month, Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has announced the squad list of players for their upcoming matches, with a strong representation from FC Barcelona.

Indeed, as many as seven players from the Blaugrana squad have been called up by Luis de la Fuente for the friendlies.

The big news is that Joan Garcia, after convincing, consistent displays since joining the club in the summer, has earned his first-ever call-up to the Spanish national team.

He will, however, be one among four goalkeepers competing for a spot, with Unai Simon, David Raya, and Alex Remiro.

Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsi, who has been excellent in defence despite his age, is also named in the squad, while Pedri, Dani Olmo, and Fermin Lopez also feature.

Up ahead in attack, both Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres have also been named in the squad by De La Fuente.

However, there is no place in the squad for Alejandro Balde, who is currently recovering from an injury.

Meanwhile, Gavi, who recently came back from an injury, has not been called up, while Marc Bernal, enjoying a rich vein of form, has also been excluded despite speculations suggesting a maiden call-up for him.

Having initially been scheduled to play Argentina in the Finalissima 2026, Spain will be involved in friendlies against Serbia and Egypt after the showpiece event was cancelled.
