RC Lens have announced the contract extension of French centre-back Jonathan Gradit (30). The former Tours and Caen defender put pen to paper over a two-year extension, tying him to Lens until 2026. Gradit is the latest Sang-et-Or to commit to a long-term contract after strikers Florian Sotoca and Wesley Saïd, as well as defenders Facundo Medina and Deiver Machado. A former Bordeaux youth product, Gradit was a late-bloomer. He signed his first professionnal contract with Tours aged 21. He then joined Caen in 2018 before agreeing a move to Lens in 2019. He helped the northern side gain promotion the following year.

This season, Gradit has played sixteen out of a possible 21 Ligue 1 games after suffering a broken collarbone in September. He registered two assists for the third-placed Franck Haise-led side. Lens lost their first home game of the season against Nice this Wednesday, and Les Sang-et-Or travels to Brest this weekend for Ligue 1 gameweek 22.
