After a year and a half during which he has broken all sorts of records, Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal shows no signs of stopping.

The 17-year-old La Masia sensation had become the youngest-ever footballer to make it to the Top 30 nominees in Ballon d’Or history.

Yamal makes history again

Now, the Barça and Spain prodigy, who is the favourite to win the Kopa Trophy tonight, has secured a place in the Top ten of the final Ballon d’Or rankings.

In the process, Yamal became the youngest player in Ballon d’Or history to finish in the top ten, securing the eighth place.

This is yet another feather in the cap of inarguably the best young footballer in the game at this point.

Yamal finds himself in esteemed company with superstars like Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Rodri, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Lautaro Martinez, and Dani Carvajal, while the now-retired legend Toni Kroos completes the Top 10.

Olmo finishes 13th

Meanwhile, Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo finished in the 13th position in the final Ballon d’Or rankings for 2024.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder enjoyed a fruitful campaign with RB Leipzig, which was followed by a fine run with Spain at the UEFA Euro 2024, where he finished as the top scorer and one of the best players at the tournament.

As such, a high finish in the Ballon d’Or rankings is well deserved for the Spanish international, who ends up ahead of players like Ruben Dias, Bukayo Saka, Federico Valverde, and Antonio Rudiger, among others.
