Lazare Amani is no longer part of the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise squad. The Brussels club terminated his contract on September 2, 2025, after several months without any official action from the player in the first team.

Lazare Amani has definitively left Parc Duden. The Ivorian international, crowned African champion in February 2024, was not in Sébastien Pocognoli’s plans for the 2025-2026 season. Despite the departures of Charles Vanhoutte to Nice and Kamiel Van de Perre’s injury, the 27-year-old was unable to reclaim his spot in the Union squad. He hadn’t even trained with the first team since the start of preseason.

The midfielder had spent the second half of last season on loan at Standard Liège. Before that, he had stints at Charleroi, Eupen, and Saint-Gilles. Under Karel Geraerts, he demonstrated real ability to break the lines and inject energy into the game alongside Teddy Teuma and Casper Nielsen.

The termination of his contract now allows Lazare Amani to negotiate freely with any club of his choice, unconstrained by the closure of European transfer windows.
