Lazio have announced that, for the first time in 17 years, their pre-season plans won’t include a training camp at Auronzo di Cadore.
The small Venetian town repeatedly hosted the Biancocelesti in each of the last 17 summers, so this training camp became a club custom. Lazio adopted this place partially to escape the Roman heat in July, especially when the fitness levels are still low after the summer vacation. It also offered the fans the opportunity to connect with their favourite stars up close and personal.
However, Lazio have now announced that the collaboration between the club and the organizers of the Auronzo di Cadore camp has reached an end, at least for the time being. Hence, the Aquile won’t be heading to the North East this summer, as confirmed by the club’s official statement.
This is not a goodbye, but a see you soon, with the promise of meeting again, united by our great passion. Thank you so much, Auronzo!
Moreover, Lazio posted another note confirming that the summer pre-season preparations will take place at the club’s renovated training facility in Formello.
La Lazio Siamo Noi also reveals that the club will take part in two pre-season friendlies in Istanbul against Turkiye’s two biggest clubs, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Moreover, the club will be looking to extend its habit of playing against a Premier League side (after Aston Villa and Southampton in previous years), but the identity of their English opponent remains unknown.
