Lazio have now signed Uruguayan midfielder and former Inter star Matias Vecino on a free transfer.
Vecino’s contract at Inter ran out at the end of June and the midfielder was a free agent. While he had drawn links with other clubs across Europe, Lazio have now confirmed that they have signed the player for free.
The player had undergone medical tests at the Biancocelesti on Monday but Serie A have now made the announcement, with the midfielder now the club’s 7th signing of the summer. Other Lazio signings include Alessio Romagnoli, goalkeeper Luis Maximiano, Marcos Antonio, defender Nicolo Casale, Spanish centre-back Mario Gila and Matteo Cancellieri has also arrived on loan from Verona.
Vecino’s game time at Inter had run out, as he could make only 17 appearances last season and played less than 400 minutes in Serie A for the Nerazzurri. He was part of Antonio Conte’s side that won Serie A and has now signed a three-year deal with Maurizio Sarri’s side.
