Le Havre AC have announced the loan signing of France U21 international midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath (22) on loan from Red Bull Salzburg, both clubs have announced. The former Saint-Etienne Academy graduate is making a return to Ligue 1 after signing for the Austrian giants back in 2022. Last year, the defensive midfielder joined AS Roma on loan. Gourna-Douath remains tied with Red Bull Salzburg over a contract set to expire in 2027.

Le Havre have notably beaten the likes of Rangers FC and Valencia CF to the signing of Gourna-Douath. Despite their status as a lowly Ligue 1 side vying for survival, Le Havre have convinced Gourna-Douath over guarantees regarding his playing time. The defensive midfielder only featured five times this season with RB Salzburg as his 2025-2026 campaign was blighted by injuries.
