Union Berlin have announced the signing of 23-year-old goalkeeper Lennart Grill on a season-long loan with an option to buy from fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
“I’m really looking forward to the transfer to Berlin,” said Grill. “For me, it doesn’t just mean playing for a special club. It’s also about constantly improving, integrating myself into the team quickly and doing my part for a successful season.”
Grill played just one game in the Bundesliga for B04 last season as an understudy to Lukáš Hrádecký.
Grill arrives in Berlin after the Bundesliga side allowed Andreas Luthe to join Kaiserslautern.
During his time at Leverkusen, Grill played five games in all competitions following his €2m move from Kaiserslautern in 2020. The now 23-year-old has also represented Germany at youth level.
