Jimmy Cabot (30) has been forced to retire due to injury. The midfielder, who ended his career at RC Lens, suffered an ACL injury back in October 2022.
Cabot has not played a game for Lens’ first team since October 2022, when he suffered an ACL injury. He did make one cameo for the reserve side last season, however, he failed to sufficiently recover and so he has taken the decision to call time on his playing career at the age of just 30.
Cabot made 268 professional appearances, featuring for the likes of ESTAC Troyes, FC Lorient, SCO Angers, and finally Lens. He joined Les Sang e Or back in the summer of 2022 for a €2m fee. It was Lens who announced Cabot’s retirement, stating that the decision had been taken after “a tough and endless battle” to recover from his cruciate ligament tear.
The midfielder added, “After a long battle, the moment has come to turn the page. It is with great emotion that I am announcing my retirement from professional football.”
