Hákon Haraldsson has officially signed for Lille from FC København, the club have confirmed on social media. The Icelandic attacking midfielder has signed a 5-year deal at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, lasting until 2028. Lille OSC managed to beat RB Salzburg to the former København player’s signature.
The 20-year-old will become the first player from Iceland to wear the Les Dogues jersey. He was involved in a very successful campaign for the Copenhagen club last season as they won a domestic double. It was an impressive campaign on a personal level for Haraldsson too as he managed 7 goals and 5 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
After completing his move to Lille, Haraldsson said, “I am very excited to join LOSC, to soon be able to meet the club’s fans and play in this magnificent stadium that I had the chance to see when I arrived. It’s been a long journey to get here, and now, I’m really looking forward to getting started and starting this adventure.” The Iceland international is the second arrival of the summer at the Stade Pierre Mauroy after Les Dogues confirmed the arrival of Tiago Santos to Paulo Fonseca’s squad earlier in the transfer window.
