Official | Manchester United’s Leny Yoro handed maiden senior France call-up as Ibrahima Konaté pulls out

Manchester United centre-back Leny Yoro (20) has been called up by France national team manager Zinédine Zidane at the 11th hour, the French FA has announced. This the former Lille OSC defender’s maiden senior France call-up. The 20-year-old replaces Real Madrid centre-back Ibrahima Konaté within Zindane’s squad. The Real Madrid defender had to pull out as he sustained a minor right knee sprain.

Yoro was already in France’s Clairefontaine camp given he has been called up by France U21 manager Gérald Baticle. The Manchester United defender will be given the chance to impress for Zidane’s first four Nations League games against Turkey, Belgium and Italy. Yoro is the seventh player to be given his maiden France call-up by Zidane, after Guillaume Restes, Jean Butez, Andy Diouf, Jérémy Jacquet, Lucas Da Cunha and Estéban Lepaul.
