Real Betis announced on their social media accounts on Monday afternoon an extension for a member of their defensive personnel.
The man in question is Marc Bartra, who is in the midst of his second stint at the club, having first joined in 2018 and staying at the club for five seasons.
After spending a season out at Trabzonspor in Turkey, the Catalan defender returned to the green side of Seville last season, but only played four games as he faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to Achilles tendon issues.
Bartra’s best moment at Real Betis came in 2022, when he was part of the squad which won the Copa del Rey, beating Valencia in the final.
The 33-year-old has signed a year-long extension at Betis, and will hope to earn a more consistent place in the side by keeping fit next season and available for selection.
Real Betis head to the United States in July, which will be a key indicator of where Bartra is at in terms of fitness and sharpness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
