FC Emmen have signed Mark Diemers from Feyenoord, with the Dutch midfielder joining on loan for the 2022/23 season.
Diemers signed for Feyenoord in 2020 after impressing at Fortuna Sittard, but was never able to secure a regular place in the starting XI, struggling to impress De Kuip faithful.
Given that, it comes as no surprise that Arne Slot has willingly sent him out on loan for the upcoming campaign, with it being a move that suits all parties, allowing him to get more playing time and giving Emmen a player who has enjoyed great success when playing at clubs of a similar level.
“Mark is the attacking reinforcement we were looking for,” said chairman Ronald Lubbers.
“Moreover, he is multifunctional, as he has demonstrated at Feyenoord and Hannover. In Germany, he often played at six and sometimes as eight. And as a 10, Mark has already shown himself emphatically in the Eredivisie.”
“The negotiations with Feyenoord gained momentum on Wednesday afternoon and at the end of the afternoon we were done.”
